General Changes:

• In the past, error, warnings, etc were written to the "OUT" file if they occurred during an INMODEL. This has been changed so that they will be written to the log file unless &DEVICE -OECHO YES has been issued before the INMODEL was issued.
• You can now get a list of the NWT and WT downflooding points on a body with the &BODY string function. Click here to see the documentation.
• A new way to tag data and restrict reports has been created. Click here and here to see the documentation.
• The selection method for "stress" reports in the STRUCTURAL POST menu is now on Von Mises stress divided by yield stress.
• The reporting of stresses in rods has changed so that one now gets the Von Mises stress/Fy and the RP2A hydrostatic collapse code check reported. Click here to see the documentation.
• The damping matrix produced with the MATRICES command in the FREQ_RESPONSE menu now returns the total linearized damping coefficients - radiation + viscous.
• Structural Post Processing reports for plates now may present results for both sided of the plate depending on the report level. The rules for plates are now the same as for beams; i.e. plates have two location where stresses can be reported.

Plates:

• In the past plates could be defined with either three or four nodes. This limitation has been relaxed so that a single generalized plate can be defined with up to Click here to see an example.
• Previously stresses were computed at a single point for a plate. Now, each plate is divided into a set of triangular plates and the stress reported at the centroid of each triangle. The precise subdivision depends on the topology of the generalized plate.
• A new command, REFINE, has been created which allows one to add nodes to selected edges of generalized plates. Click here to see an example.
• One can now have a "hole" inside a generalized plate. The shape of the hole is refined as the exterior of the plate is refined. Click here and go to the section on Stress Concentration to see an example and s discussion.
• One can now have a concave generalized plate if it has a "free edge". Click here to see an example.
• Two new plate summaries FACES and SUBELEMENT have been added. Click here to see the documentation.

Pictures:

• The fonts used on pictures have been changed so that they will look better.
• The option -C_MAP of the &COLOR command has been removed from the documentation and replaced with two options -S_MAP and -R_MAP. Each of these defines a color map with the first one being used for stress ratios and the second being used for utilization ratios. Click here to see the documentation.
• The "picture" options which deal with "intensity" have changed to "stress". In other words, one can now annotate or color according to Von Mises stress divided by yield stress. Click here to see the documentation.
• A new value, -COLOR MODELED has been added to the -COLOR option of &PICTURE. Now, one can define colors for each element, load attribute, and piece and use this option for color the picture with the defined color. Click here or here or here or here or here to see the documentation.
• A new option, -REALTIME has been added to &PICTURE to the pictures relating to a simulation. Click here to see the documentation.
• Two new options, -A_SIZE and -T_SIZE have been added to &PICTURE to control the size of the annotation text and the title. Click here to see the documentation.

Element Changes:

• The LINK connector has been removed from the documentation and is no longer supported.
• A new option, -SYMMETRIC, has been added to GSPR and FOUNDATION connectors. This allows one to properly define a connector which is symmetric about the element X axis. Click here to see the documentation or here to see an example.
• The way offsets and releases are defined on beams and plates has changed. In the past one used a letter to define the vertex, now one uses the number of the vertex. Click here to see the documentation for beams or here to see the documentation for plates.
• You can get information about the category of an element with the &ELEMENT string function. Click here to see the documentation.

Disposition MenuChanges:

&ENV Changes:

• The way the 2JONSWAP spectrum computes GAMMA has been changed to comfort with the DNV guidelines. been added. Click here to see the documentation.
• A new option, SP_TYPE, has been added to the &ENV command. This option defined the type of period which will be used for this environment, PEAK or MEAN. The default value is taken from a similar option on &DEFAULT. The -NPERIOD option in many commands in the FREQ_RESP menu also depends on the value of TYPE. With this new option, one can no define spectra in terms of their peak period. Click here to see the documentation.

RP2A Joints:

Defaults ans Parameters:

• We have replaced the &PARAMTERs -VERT, -HORIZ, and -HEIPNT with defaults -SP_ORIENT and -SP_HEIGHT. These define defaults for option of the same name on &DESCRIBE BODY. The old way of doing things is still available, but remember it is now a default, not a paramater which takes effect immediately.
• We have defined two new parameters -SL_TUBE and -SL_PLATE which can be used to define a tube or plate slamming coefficient which will be used instead of the MOSES computed derivative of the added mass.
• Using -TENSTR on &DEFAULT is now errored instead of being ignored.

What No Longer Works:

• The INTENSITY options of the &ELEMENT string function no longer works. One can now use STRESS.
• Most of the "INFO" values for the &ENV string function have been changed to conform with a rational naming convention. In particular, the ones which begin with W_ should be changed to S_.
• The values INTENSITY, P_INTENSITY, and S_INTENSITY following -ANOTATE are no longer valid as is INTENSITY following -COLOR.

What Answers Will Change:

• All results using 2JONSWAP will change a bit.
• All stress results for plates will change due to the changes outlined above.
• The -FS_LIMITS option of the &DESCRIBE COMPARTMENT command has been removed from the documentation and the upper limit is now ignored.
• Detail reports in the Structural Post Processing Menu have change in the order of points vs load cases.
• Reports referring to the location along a beam have been changed from distance to percentage of distance. As a result all of these distances will change.
• All results using an LMU will change because the default is now to use the -SYMMETRIC option.
