Ultramarine Proceedure Questions


Q: Is there some way that I can be automatically informed whenever this is a bug fix?

A: Yes, all you need to do is to send an email to support@ultramarine.com giving you name and company and ask to be added to our list of people to notify. We will notify one person per account.


Q: Does the bug you fixed for me only work with REV X.XX (the current release)?
REV 7.02

A: Yes, all "bug" fixes are only made to the "current" release.


Q: Where can I download the MOSES that contains the bug fix that you did for me?
REV 7.02

A: Please, go to http://www.ultramarine.com/pub/ftp.htm You will be asked to fill out a form. For select your download choose "MOSES Update". Or you can start from the Ultramarine Homepage http://www.ultramarine.com

Click on "Moses" in the top bar, and then
Click on "Update Moses"
This will lead you to the same form.


Q: Why did the answers change between REV X.XX and REV Y.YY?
REV 7.00

A: The changes between each release are documented, shipped with each installation, and posted on our web site. There are different types of changes

  • Changes to the program which will make old models invalid,
  • Changes to the program which will really make the answers change, and
  • Fixes of bugs.
According to our Quality Assurance Procedures each change is documented and any change in results is reconciled before we proceed.

Thus, the most likely reason that your results changed is that the old model is no longer correct. If this is not the case then the old results were probably incorrect and were changed due to fixing of problems.

Check the new results carefully and if you believe that they are incorrect, please let us know. We want to eliminate errors, but we are not interested in knowing why things change.
